Established in 2017, Pine Barrens Yarn Company was created to focus on the yarns and fibers of the South Jersey region. All fiber is sourced from near or within the Pine Barrens region, an area known for its natural beauty and resources. Alpaca Huycana fiber, Merino wool and Blacknose Valais wool are just some of the typical fibers raised by small farmers and combined to create the small batch yarn lines, many of which are named after famous Pine Barrens locations. The color ways are often inspired by the wildflowers that grow in the Pine Barrens, some of which grow nowhere else in the world. As part of the local fibershed movement, Pine Barrens Yarn Company is committed to helping people answer the question “Where does your yarn come from?”
