Are you curious about needle felting? Ever wondered which Shave ‘Em to Save ‘Em (SE2SE) breeds would work best? Do you NEED a little wooly buddy for your craft area? If so, this is the challenge for you! Join us for two Facebook Live sessions on Wednesday, September 22 and Wednesday, September 29 at 7:00 PM EST as Teresa Perleberg, a shepherdess and expert felting instructor of Bear Creek Felting and The Nome Schoolhouse, teaches us how to create our very own Felted Friend.
How does it work?
In this challenge, participants will make one or more sheep using wool from two breeds of rare sheep on the Conservation Priority List.
- Purchase a kit from Bear Creek Felting. Teresa has prepared an all-in-one kit with her recommended fibers (CVM & Teeswater) and necessary supplies. A link to the kit will be provided in the confirmation email upon registration for the Felted Friends Challenge.
- Use SE2SE fiber already in your stash. A materials list with recommended breeds will be provided in the confirmation email upon registration for the Felted Friends Challenge.
- Buy fiber for the Challenge from SE2SE Fiber Providers listed in our online Breeders and Products Directory. You will receive a materials list with recommended breeds in the confirmation email upon registration for the Felted Friends Challenge.
Don’t forget to join us in the SE2SE Felted Friends Challenge Facebook Group, just for Felting Challenge participants, where Teresa will host the livestream lessons on Wednesday evenings at 7 PM EST. After you register for the Challenge, you’ll receive an invitation to participant in the Felted friends Challenge Facebook group.
This is a quick 2-week challenge to wet your whistle and dip your toes into needle felting. During this challenge, we will discuss the best SE2SE breeds for needle felting, necessary equipment, and Teresa will show us how easy it is to make a little wooly friend. Bring your questions!
