Spring NJ Fibershed Marketplace – POSTPONED

May 30, 2020 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT

Event Navigation

We regret to announce that we will be postponing our May 29 spinning workshop, Fleeces From Our Fibershed with Deborah Robson, as well as our May 30 Fiber Farm Market. All registration fees will be refunded.

This decision, as difficult and disappointing as it is for everyone, was unavoidable in light of the unprecedented challenges we face due to the pandemic. We will continue to monitor the situation and to abide by state mandates. We hope to be able to set a new date for our workshop and Fiber Farm Market soon.

********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Our Spring Fiber Farm Market will be held May 30th from 10-5PM in the great room of the HWNC building at the Willow School, 1150 Pottersville Rd, Gladstone, NJ 07934.  It will feature local vendors selling yarn, fleece, finished goods such as blankets, hats, and socks–all from their flocks–and other farm goods.  Other vendors will provide natural dye plants and seeds, as well as handcrafted goods sourced from local materials.  This is your chance to connect with local farmers and artisans.

At the Market on Saturday, Deborah Robson, author of The Fleece & Fiber Sourcebook will give a free presentation entitled, “The Magic of Wool.” Other Market day events include a fleece skirting demonstration, and spinning and knitting circles.  All events are open to the public.

Deborah Robson will be joining us for our kickoff weekend–on Friday, May 29, she’ll be teaching a handspinning workshop at Middle Brook Fiberworks, also in Bedminster. The full-day class will focus on working with breed-specific wool from sheep breeds raised in New Jersey.
