New for this year, we are excited to partner with the Hunterdon Art Museum to host the Fleece & Yarn Sale at the museum’s outdoor terrace. The museum is located on one of the most scenic sites in New Jersey, overlooking the South Branch of the Raritan River. The terrace offers views of the Art Museum’s historic stone mill and the Red Mill Museum Village, and is a popular spot where tourists and residents gather.

The Fleece & Yarn Sale is free and open to the public, featuring local fiber and other farm products. The event will offer live fiber arts demonstrations from local fiber arts guilds and presentations throughout the day. As a joint venture with HAM, the museum will offer workshops focused on sustainable fiber art during the event. The Fleece & Yarn Sale will be publicized through both the museum’s and NJ Fibershed’s newsletters, an audience of over 4,700 subscribers and social media platforms, as well as regional news outlets.

To apply, review the Vendor Agreement below, and click on this link to complete the online application.

Eligibility of products for sale
The goal of NJ Fibershed is to promote local production systems. Vendors may sell products derived from their animals or land, or their handmade work that contain, in some part, materials grown or harvested locally (within 200 miles of vendor). Examples of eligible products include but is not limited to: raw fleece; yarn made from vendor’s own or another local farm’s animals; yarn dyed with locally sourced dyestuffs; finished products made with local wool; products made with locally-sourced honey or beeswax; wood products made from locally sourced wood; self-started plants or self-collected seeds or dyestuffs. If you have any questions regarding your products, please contact us.

Vendor spaces
Spaces are outdoors and each space will be approximately 10’x10’. Vendors must provide their own tents, tables, and chairs. Tents must be equipped with weights and/or stakes to safely secure the tent. Electrical outlets are not guaranteed. Vendors may share a space but each vendor must apply individually, and both parties must indicate that they are planning to share a space.

Setup and breakdown
To ensure a safe and efficient experience for all participants, each vendor will be assigned a setup and breakdown time to unload in front of the museum. After unloading, vendors must park their vehicles at the Water Street parking lot before returning to the terrace to set up their booth. Volunteers will be on hand to assist with unloading and loading.

Sale Hours
The Fleece & Yarn Sale will be open to the public from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Vendors are expected to stay for the duration of the event, and may not begin to break down their space until 4 p.m. All tables must be cleared by 6 p.m.

Cancellations
Vending fees are non-refundable.

Taxes
Please consult the NJ Dept. of Treasury for information on Sales and Use Taxes. Sales tax is 6.625% (as of Jan. 1, 2018) and does not apply to all types of goods, but sales amounts must be reported even if no sales taxes are due.
